4 Seasonal Flowers to Welcome Fall

As the crisp air of fall settles in, it's the perfect time to refresh your space with seasonal blooms. Whether you're looking to add a bold pop of color or create a unique autumnal arrangement, these four flowers are must-haves for fall décor.

1. Dahlias

Dahlias are one of my go-to flowers for creating lush, full arrangements. These vibrant blooms are typically available from late summer through fall and come in a stunning array of colors, from deep burgundy to sunny orange. Their intricate petal structure gives off a beautiful pompom effect, making them a standout feature in any bouquet.

In this particular arrangement, I opted for dark, moody shades that reflect the deeper tones of fall while keeping the warmth we associate with the season. For a fun twist, try swapping out a traditional vase for a hollowed-out pumpkin—it’s a quirky and seasonal touch that really makes a statement!

2. Celosia

Celosia, with its unusual texture and brilliant hues, is another perfect addition to your fall flower collection. Blooming from August through October, you’ll often find celosia varieties at both garden centers and florists. One of my favorite types is the “Cock’s Comb,” which has a fascinating, brain-like structure that adds a playful, spooky vibe to your arrangement—ideal for Halloween!

Incorporate celosia into your next design to introduce texture and visual interest. Its unique look is sure to spark conversations.

3. Amaranth

If you're looking to add height and dimension to your floral designs, Amaranth is an excellent choice. This plant offers cascading, vine-like plumes that drape elegantly over the sides of taller vases. Its soft, feathered texture pairs beautifully with celosia, making it a dynamic duo for fall arrangements.

Fun fact: Amaranth grain is also edible and can be roasted or popped like popcorn—an extra bonus for any creative culinary ideas you might have.

4. Marigolds

No fall arrangement would be complete without the iconic marigold. Known as the Aztec marigold or cempasúchil, these blooms are an integral part of Día de los Muertos celebrations, symbolizing the connection between life and death. The marigold's distinctive scent is said to guide spirits back to the living world during the celebration—a meaningful addition to your fall floral displays.Available from late summer through early November, their bright orange and yellow petals bring a bold vibrancy to any arrangement.

All these flowers are currently in season, and we’re excited to offer custom arrangements across the Bay Area. Whether you're looking for a ready-made bouquet or planning a bulk order for an event, we've got you covered!
